I wanted to keep with the same theme of my audio entry and gain some insight on what type of social media you use daily. Please take my poll in answering all of the social media tools you use daily.
I have had so many students get into trouble using Snapchat that I refuse to use the app. I know the app itself isn't to blame, but I've had far too much trouble stemming from it, so I let the kids know that I won't use it.
I now have accounts for all of them except tumblr. Instagram is really the only one I use daily. I'm pretty passive in terms of using social media. Not a big poster.
I am willing to try almost everything. But I really use Twitter the most, followed by Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. I think that different networks have different personalities and different purposes. I like having conversations about ideas on Twitter. LinkedIn is more like an office - all about business. Facebook is where I tell dumb stories about my kids. And Instagram is for pictures of moments in my life. The network I choose depends on what I want to communicate, and with whom.
I think it's a great idea to compartmentalize your social media. If I continue using Twitter it would be for work stuff only. And keep Facebook and Instagram as my posting about my life stuff.
I am a Facebook and Twitter user. I use Facebook to connect with my friends and family but do not use it for professional use. I am new to Twitter but loving it. Twitter is more for professional learning rather than personal use.
I'm new to Twitter as well, and I would agree that Twitter is something to use for professional use versus Facebook. I guess according to students, Facebook is for old people... so I'll keep my old self posting pictures of my family. :)
I took your poll. What a great idea for a poll. Kids would love that poll!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I like to see what teachers use as well!

ReplyDeleteI see adults get in trouble using Snapchat! No thanks!
DeleteI strictly use. Facebook and Twitter. My daughters tell me that's what old people use. I guess I'm old.
ReplyDeleteIt's okay, I'm in the same boat!

ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you. I generally just use Facebook if I'm doing any posting.
